April Kinser-Keller

As a video producer and editor, I have created and published short-form documentary videos for The Dallas Morning News website DallasNews.com. I also created the award-winning On the Road music video series for KXT 91.7, the most listened-to Triple A radio station in the country. I also aided in shooting and editing all in-studio live sessions with the station's production crew.

M​y print designs center around the annual KXT 91.7 Summer Cut Happy Funtime Fest, a music festival featuring indie bands, independent art vendors and food trucks. ​

I was integral to the event's look and feel by designing stickers (top photo), posters, banners, t-shirts and ads for print counterparts across North Texas. ​

​As a web and multimedia journalist for The Dallas Morning News, I reported on many breaking news stories and lifestyle features. As a general assignments reporter, I was always prepared for any story that came my way and am very comfortable working within a daily news environment on deadline. 

I've written on a broad range of topics, including the murder of a heavy metal band member by an obsessed fan (story featured in images), the transformative world of graffiti artists, the anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing and devoted Star Wars fans.

I've also contributed blog posts to the Art&Seek blog during the South by Southwest Interactive Conference. Art&Seek is the arts and culture site for KERA/North Texas Public Broadcasting. Click on the links below to see examples of blog posts.
