I have over 10 years experience in reporting and writing for large media organizations, including The Dallas Morning News, North Texas Public Media and WNYC's Radiolab. I have also worked as a freelance digital producer for The Wall Street Journal's breaking news hub, publishing stories and adding multimedia components to stories for The Wall Street Journal website.
RADIOLAB
As a Dallas correspondent for Radiolab, I reported on S.C.A.D. diving (Suspended Catch Air Device) for the "Falling" episode. In other words, I participated in a 15-story free fall into a giant net and recorded it. The purpose was to see if time actually slowed down during a "life-threatening" situation, a common belief. As is evidenced by my blood-curdling scream in the audio below, it will be a while before I participate in an assignment like this again. (Reporting starts at around the 4:00 mark)
THE DALLAS MORNING NEWS
As a multimedia reporter for The Dallas Morning News, I reported on many breaking news stories and lifestyle features. I was always prepared for any story that came my way and am very comfortable working on deadline. I've written on a broad range of topics, including the murder of a heavy metal band member by an obsessed fan (story featured in the images below), the transformative world of graffiti artists, the anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing and devoted Star Wars fans.
